Ifconfig Network Card Identifiers

More than once, I've wanted to be able to identify the network interface card in various systems running Solaris (Sun Microsystems) and IRIX (Silicon Graphics). Theifconfigcommand is the usual source of information about the network interfaces, but it only identifies the interface with a two- to six-character identifier. Over time, I've managed to work out the interface cards represented by various identifiers. Since there doesn't seem to be a single source for this information, I decided to post the identifiers I could determine, in case others might find them useful.
